2008 Winter Lights Lantern Festival

The Cleveland Museum of Arts presents the 15th annual Winter Lights Lantern Festival—a free event inspired by centuries-old, cross-cultural traditions of ceremonial lighting displays. Enjoy lantern displays inside the museum and the Environment of Lights installation on Wade Oval.

Activities at the museum on Sunday, December 7, are part of University Circle Inc. Holiday CircleFest.
The museum joins more than a dozen neighboring institutions for this annual community open house.

Make simple Asian-inspired lanterns to carry in the procession.

Dancers, giant puppets, and guest artists carrying hand-made lanterns will encircle Environment of Lights installatons. Begins at North Entrance.

Preparatory Lantern Making Workshops
November 7-23, Fridays 6:00-8:30 and Sundays 2:00-4:30.
Community Arts Artistic Director Robin VanLear and her staff lead a series of workshops on batik lanterns.
